There are many reasons to celebrate this Spring. As you drive or walk throughout our City, you will notice another substantial amount of projects and improvements.
The State Police Crime Lab is coming out of the ground. This $38 million project will bring many police officers to Belleville from all over Southern Illinois.
Lindenwood University is buzzing with improvements, which includes a $2.3 million renovation to their football stadium. The final phase of
South 17th Street is under construction and we should be able to use it to drive from West Main Street to Belleville Crossing shopping center or Belleville West High School by Nov. 1 of this year. Another section of our City’s
bike trail will begin soon from Citizens Park to Frank Scott Parkway and them to Bellevue Park. Be watching for the construction of the
September 11 Memorial Walkway of Southern Illinois on the front lawn of the Fire administration offices at 1125 So. Illinois Street. The
East Washington Street coupler project will begin in a few weeks and will provide new curbs, sidewalks and a street overlay.
Please become involved with our Belleville Neighborhood Partnership Program, a program intended to give neighborhoods direct input and a greater voice in improving the community.
Great things are happening in Belleville and we need everyone to help strengthen our City. Thank you.
