



The Belleville Police Department currently has 82 police officers and 20 support personnel. Nearly 200 miles of streets are patrolled by the uniformed patrol division on a daily basis. Being a member of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force, and the St Clair County Drug Tactical Unit, the department’s investigations unit has distinguished itself as dedicated and professional investigators throughout the Metro-East area.
The members of the Belleville Police Department have demonstrated they are committed to the continued excellence of performance in law enforcement and community service. This is evidenced by supplementing a traditional reactive style of policing with a more proactive strategy with emphasis on crime prevention through increased community interaction.
Instructions for completing a “Gas Drive Off Report”
The Belleville Police Department has created an online form for reporting “Gas Drive Offs”. Adobe Acrobat Reader a free pdf reader program is necessary to complete the form. It is available for free download from www.adobe.com. Open the “Gas Drive Off Report”. On the form numerous boxes shaded in blue, all of these boxes are available for information to be added by the reporting party. Some of these boxes are also outlined in red. These boxes are MANDATORY information that must be included for the report to be reviewed by the Police Department. Once the form has been completed it may be saved then emailed to dispatch@bellevillepolice.org or print a copy and fax it to the number listed at the bottom of the page. This form is for reporting Gas Drive Off Thefts only. Currently only three (3) types of reports are accepted via online reporting. (Gas Drive Off, Stolen Bicycle, and Lost or Stolen Cell Phone) Any other theft, damage, or criminal activity report shall be made by contacting the Police Department by either 618-234-1212 or 911. In lieu of email or faxing the report it may be delivered to the Belleville Police Department (Desk Sergeant Area) by an employee of the reporting business.
