Angel of Hope Memorial Candlelight Vigil Service 

Held annually on December 6th at 7:00pm in Bellevue Park


This Candlelight Memorial Service is held at Bellevue Park for all parents, grandparents, relatives, and friends who have lost a child of any age for any reason. We come together to remember and honor our children's memories, beginning with a brief program at the Stone Lodge followed by a candlelight procession to the Angel of Hope Memorial. Loved ones are encouraged to bring flowers to be placed at the Memorial. For further information, view the Bellevue Park Facility information, the Donation Flyer, or the Information Brochure.

Calls From Santa & the North Pole Elves

November and December - Recommended for ages 3 - 8

 

Sponsored by the Belleville Parks & Recreation Department, phone calls from Santa & the North Pole Elves are made in the 618 area code only. Parents must complete a Call Request Form and return to the Belleville Parks & Recreation Department via email, fax, or U.S. Postal mail. Calls will be placed on the scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between the hours of 5:30pm - 8:00pm during the first and second weeks of December. 

Family Formal Dance 

February or March


Get dressed to the nines to attend our Family Formal Dance! This is a special night for families to spend with each other. Enjoy a pasta dinner and sweets while listening and dancing to the sounds of music from a D.J. Each child will receive a goodie bag. Dance contest and prizes too! Registration begins in November/December.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza

March or April - For ages 1-7

Held in Bellevue Park, this event is open to the public and is co-sponsored with the Turkey Hill Grange. There are free cookies and punch after the hunt with a “Special” bunny making an appearance for photo opportunities.  Mark your calendars and come join us for a great morning of fun with the kids!!! The event will take place rain or shine with required pre-registration beginning in February.

Free Fishing Derby 

May - For ages 4-12

This is a catch and release fishing event held at the lake in Bellevue Park and is open to boys and girls. Prizes and refreshments are available to all child participants.

Gingerbread 5K Run / Walk

1st Saturday in December


This run begins at the Belleville Parks and Recreation at 8:30 a.m. The course takes you throughout the streets of beautiful downtown Belleville with an awards ceremony following at the Historic Lincoln Theater. This is the third and final event in the Triple Crown Award Program; Law Day Run and Tour de Belleville are the first two events. Registration begins in November.

Gingerbread Contest 

November and December

Are you aching to bake? Let your imagination run wild! This Belleville tradition is a fun way to celebrate the holidays. There are five categories of entries. All gingerbread entries are judged by a panel of judges. Over $4,000 in prize money from sponsor donations is awarded. Entries are turned in for the judging in November. All creations are displayed in the windows of downtown stores and businesses to be enjoyed by holiday visitors until after New Years Day. Registration is from May through November.

Summer Concerts 

June and July


Bring your lawn chairs and settle in for some great music outdoors! Beginning in June of every year, different area bands will entertain the public starting at 7:00 p.m. These free concerts are held on Monday evenings in downtown Belleville on the Public Square and on Thursday evenings at beautiful Bellevue Park.

Tour de Belleville  

Spring/Summer


This annual community bicycling event raises funds for safety equipment and provides a quality recreational opportunity for individuals and families in our community. Registration begins in May.
