Event Guidelines and Checklist

Any person, partnership, corporation, organization or group that shall promote, advertise, operate, conduct, or participate in any public or quasi-public exhibition, demonstration, show, festival, parade, similar planned event, or other outdoor assembly of persons, which is directly or indirectly advertised or touted in the public press, radio, or television, or to which large numbers of people are directly or indirectly invited to attend, must submit an Event Application to the City Clerk.
 
All applications will be reviewed by City Staff and sent to City Council for final approval or denial.

Block Party Request

Residents interested in holding a Block Party for their neighborhood, which requires street closures, should complete and submit a Block Party Request Application to the City Clerk.

The application will be reviewed by City Staff at a meeting scheduled with the Block Party contact person(s). Upon approval by City Staff, the application will go to City Council for approval or denial. Event organizers will be notified of the final decision by City Council.

Parade Request

Anyone wanting to hold an event (parade, procession, march, etc.) that will utilize public streets, sidewalks, or other public right-of-ways, should complete and submit the Parade Request Application and submit to the City Clerk.

The application will be reviewed by City Staff at a meeting scheduled with the Parade contact person(s). Upon approval by City Staff, the application will go to City Council for approval or denial. Event organizers will be notified of the final decision by City Council.

Run-Walk-Bicycle Request

Anyone wanting to hold a run, walk or bicycle event that will utilize public streets, sidewalks, or public right-of-ways, should complete and submit the Run-Walk-Bicycle Request Application to the City Clerk.

The application will be reviewed by City Staff at a meeting scheduled with the Run-Walk-Bicycle contact person(s). Upon approval by City Staff, the application will go to City Council for approval or denial. Event organizers will be notified of the final decision by City Council.

Special Event Request

For all events that DO NOT fall under Block Party, Parade, or Walk-Run-Bicycle Event and will utilize public streets, sidewalks, or public right-of-ways, please complete and submit the Special Event Request Application to the City Clerk.
